Climate Change in Nigeria, Africa.

Gully Erosion and Landslide Activities in Nanka, Anambra State, Nigeria

Countries in Africa, including the most populous, Nigeria, are under heavy destruction from climate change – a phenomenon that has been classified in the Security Council as the ‘biggest threat modern humans have ever faced” .

Sadly, as the United Nations Secretary General rightly points out, Africa is the continent that has contributed the least to the climate crisis but is already experiencing some of its most devastating consequences.

Arguably the worst impact of climate change in Africa is the problem of gully erosion and landslides around the Nanka areas.

Supporting those suffering from the impacts of climate change is a moral, social & economic imperative”.
