Nanka areas

Nanka is a small community in Nigeria’s South Eastern State of Anambra that is most affected by climate change-induced gully erosion activities.
The term “Nanka areas” is used to refer to both Nanka and the other communities that share similar soil type and suffer similar gully erosion problems due to changing rainfall intensity and patterns.
These communities include Agulu, Ekwulobia, Oko, Awgbu and several others in the Southern region of Nigeria.
